WOL DEVOTION
Gems in the book of Romans
Christians are called “sons of God.” However, this is not because they are divine, but because God provided us a WAY to be born again (John 3:3). Through Christ, the SON of God, we were adopted as children by the Heavenly Father. Jesus, the eternal Son, took on himself the human nature, to experience mankind’s dilemmas, to demonstrate the example of how to be a son of God and died on behalf of mankind to mention a few things Jesus did. However, Jesus was rejected by His own and was not recognized for who He was. He was the King of the Jews, and one day He will return to reign as the lawful King of Israel and the King of Kings of all the earth. If you are a Christian, did you recognize Jesus as the King of your life? Or, like the Jews, you reject Him because you do not recognize and accept Him as the Lord of your life?
KNOWING THE BIBLE
A short message to ponder on… Do we recall a time when our children came to us excited and told us about something they did, which was totally new to them? We patiently listen to them as they start going into details, explaining how and why and so on... Listening to them and answering them, while praising their innocent accomplishments, take us back to similar memories we experienced with our parents long ago... The energy and enthusiasm they put in explaining their point is something that we should learn from. That same curiosity and enthusiasm in life has taught us through each stage in life and made us stronger. We should help our children have the same enthusiasm for Christianity today. We should not miss passing to them, God’s holy teaching that will save them and fortify them with wisdom through life ahead. Us parents shall pray for a way to do this and hand in hand…together with the church, will build our young ones. The world offers 1000 to 1 ratio, where values are concerned….let us make a difference because love always overcomes. Children are tomorrow’s church. But the 1 prayer in the right manner and faith will change the game..
Knowing God’s Word is pivotal in being a disciple of Christ. To neglect God’s Word is to ignore the call to make disciples, because it fails to even be a disciple. So many people claiming they are believers do not read the Bible, much less study it. Furthermore, they see prayers as waste of time, and they put no effort into fighting the anti-prayers flesh. So many do not understand that Christianity is walking in the footsteps of Jesus, believing in Him as the means for the forgiveness of sin and that in Him they can know the Father. They carry the label of “Christianity” and yet live just like the world. Unless the Bible and prayer become as crucial as the very air they breathe, it would be difficult for them to recognize the “follow me” principle of Christianity. Instead, they “follow their earthly desires fulfilling the wants of the flesh, the ungenerated flesh. All the while, the church is becoming more Bible illiterate, and seeing less discipleship take place, because the people of the church do not see enough value in reading, studying, meditating and praying… to make them a priority.
