From history we learn that man was a worshiper of God. However, his devolution made him seek a name for himself. He became a “Nimrod (rebel against God). Unfortunately, he evolved the habit of wanting attention, esteem, and honor. Eventually man himself the king of his own heart. He made his reason above God’s reason. Man made himself wise for his own debase. But according to Paul, man’s empty wisdom only revealed his foolishness. Paul summarized all of Greek history in one dramatic statement: “the times of this ignorance” (Acts 17:30).

PRAYING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION The COVID 19 locked some of us inside and others had limited freedom whilst others took them away. Our children me might not understand the pandemic side of it, but we do, and we do know that the partial lock-down is for our safety and protection. Yet, how much do our children know their spiritual freedom? Do they know they are pandemic free and that through their sharing of belief, they are blessed and are saving others? Shall we pray that they know how contagious they can be and how sharing is caring too, as they say?

Hearing how young people talk about marriage brings shivers to those who have God’s design at heart. Marriages today are crumbling at a high rate because people lost sight of the principle of commitment…the vow one takes before a marriage celebrant, secular or religious. The world lost sight of the blessing tied to a biblical marriage. The fact that governments dictate what marriage is, shows a sign of man taking the place of God. Marriage is not merely a social contract; it is a sacred covenant. It is not simply a means of looking for love, happiness and fulfillment. These things are important. In fact, they are critical. However, they are just not the most important, or the most critical. YET, because we have made second things the most important… we are having trouble living out either. When God’s purpose and principles for marriage are undermined, then His image becomes distorted.

Kingdom couples must view marriage through God’s kingdom lens. Marriage is a covenant union, designed by God in order to strengthen the capacity of each partner to carry out His plan in their lives. Application What does the word covenant mean in our relationship? Why does God still place such a high value on marriage? How can we as a couple protect our marriage? Prayer Father, thank You for the gift You have given us in marriage. Please help us to glorify You through this lifelong covenant. Amen.
