Gems in the book of Romans
Romans 6:22
Many times we hear sermons about the fruit of the Spirit and the importance of allowing or life to show its results. In a world out of control, the church needs to be the example of self-control. It shows that the children of God are saved from the wickedness of this world and are free to live out the holiness of God. Romans 6:22 declares that in Christ, we are set free from sin. If this is so, how come so many believers are still controlled by it. If we are or were not ashamed of being sinful, why are we ashamed to live holy? As slaves of God, believers produce fruit (see Jn 15:1-8). This is the work of sanctification or holiness in their lives, and the final product is eternal life. Lest the figure be misunderstood as payment for merits earned, eternal life is a gift of God through Christ. One master (sin) pays an earned wage of death; the other master (God) pays in unearned grace, resulting in eternal life Romans 6:20. Therefore, anyone who is born again cannot keep on deliberately sinning. If this is so, one needs to question whether or not he or she is walking in the faith.
Be not a flatterer of the rich; nor willingly seek the society of the great. Let thy company be the humble and the simple, the devout and the gentle, and let thy discourse be concerning things which edify.
PRAYING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION The topic at moment is the election run for the American presidency... Did we ever stop and think what position it holds to be the president of America? How much that position have influence on each part of the world...leading stock exchange, big businesses, etc etc. Isn't it funny how a human being is given such power? Compared to the spiritual power we already have in Christ, such worldly status is nothing. Our eternal life with the Almighty God awaits us. We need to pray that such worldly influence does not effect our children. Today's media bombard society, especially the young generation and we need to protect and show our loved ones what is truly important and what lasts. Our children need love, prayers and guidance in truth. Christian families are to remain humble, united, an example of Christ himself… daily.

WOL Marriage Devotion
THE HARMONIOUS MARRIAGE
Marriage means being there for each other no matter what! Marriages pass through many turmoils, some would be caused by the couple, and others by external forces…not in the couples’ control. This is the time where couples need to apply an important principle. That is to support each other, even if one is the suffering spouse. For the unconverted, helping the partner that caused the offense is not natural. However, Christian couples operate in the law of Christ and not of man. We are to carry each other’s burdens. In the same way, when trouble knocks on the door,
the couple must support one another. Someone wrote that “A strong marriage rarely has two strong people at a time. It requires a husband and wife taking turns being strong for each other in those moments when the other feels weak. Your spouse should never have to face any obstacle without your full partnership, encouragement and support. You might not always be able to offer the perfect answer or the perfect solution, but simply by offering yourself and your support, you can create a perfect opportunity for growth in your relationship.” Question for reflection: Does my spouse know that I will be there for him/her no matter what?
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” GALATIANS 6:2
