WOL DEVOTION
What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” Romans 7:7
Gems in the book of Romans
Life does not run smoothly. It is an effort, stress, failure, and the worst part of its constant consciousness of sin. Why is this? It is due to the lack of “power unto salvation.” We are not strong enough to win any victory. We are weak through the flesh. There is a leakage through which our good desires vanish, as water through a broken container. The “self” is always the problem. Before we receive eternal life, or Jesus finds us, we try to justify ourselves, and afterward, to sanctify ourselves. Notice how full these verses are of I, and how little is said of the Holy Spirit. F.B Meyer expresses it this way: “As the corpse of a criminal that was, in the old barbarous days, hung around the neck of a living man, so the flesh is to us, with all its evil promptings. But this background of dark experience, ending in vanity, vexation, disappointment, and misery leads to the following chapter, which is saturated with Pentecostal power. The distant anticipation of this revives us.”
PRAYING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION Sometimes we plan or promise things to our children which may make them anxious or very looking forward to... For example when I promised my children that I would take them on a boat for the first time, they couldn't sleep the night before and whoever they saw, they mentioned the fact that they were going on a boat.... What enthusiasm!! Do we pray for our children and families to have the same enthusiasm for God and Christianity? How blessed we would be if we mention it to all we know and wherever we go! It's time to pray for our children to be enthusiastic about their roots and their belief. Sooner or later the world we live in will try to shut them up/suffocate their belief… as it did already with our youths! Let us persist in prayer.
If you know how to suffer in silence, you will surely receive God's help. Since he knows best the time and the way to set you free, resign yourself to him, for God helps you and frees you from all confusion.

WOL Marriage Devotion
THE HARMONIOUS MARRIAGE
The happiest couples are a little “DIFFERENT” because they’ve learned that “normal” isn’t working. This concept would have sounded strange some years ago. We now know that governments want to destroy marriage as we know it today. Then statics show how many need emotional and mental therapy. What our world calls “normal” when it comes to marriage is actually unhealthy. When we look
around at our culture, it’s apparently normal for a couple to be unhappy, disconnected, and eventually divorced. If you want your marriage to be healthy and happy, you must be counter cultural at times, fearing only God. Be willing to do things others don’t seem willing to do. Base your value system on God’s timeless truths instead of the world’s fickle trends. Marriage is sacred and should be treated as such. Question for reflection: What habits do healthy couples include, that stand out as different?
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” ROMANS 12:2A (NLT)
